Will there be a leadership spill? Personally, I’m watching the ties. You know, the blue ties that Julie Gillard warned us about.
Well, she wasn’t wrong
I’m watching the men in blue ties coming out to offer their support for Abbott in varying degrees of warmth. I’m watching, too, to see if they break ranks with their ties.
Snappy young Christopher Pyne this morning…..hmmmm.
So watch the tie. Remember, you heard it here first.

If I hear one more time in the news some conservative politician say that the Australian people voted for the prime minister and their democratic will cannot be breached, I think I will turn off tv forever. How stupid do they think we are????
Westminster democracy requires that that electors vote for their representatives and then the party with the majority selects its best person as prime minister. If the ruling party no longer supports its leader as prime minister, those politicians are obliged to call for a spill and to elect a new prime minister. Electors do not have a say!
I agree. Abbott’s statement that the electors are the hirers and firers of a Prime Minister was ridiculous.
Oh dear- I think that Abbott’s press statement might have just been the last straw then.
Scusi! There is a person not wearing a tie. I am thinking of chess moves and who takes whom. If you are correct in your suggestion, it would be out of the frying pan into the fire. You obviously take a little note of politics, as do I but so many people don’t beyond what they see in tabloid media. What it is about is who is cuddly, nice and electable by the great unwashed. I think we know the answer, if the party allows it.
